I SIGNED UP FOR A CLASS BUT CAN'T MAKE IT. WHAT NOW?

We recommend signing up as soon as you can, since our classes fill up quickly.


If you are unable to attend a course after registering, you may apply the course fee to future courses and training. Our range is fully outdoors and our courses are rain or shine, so please take this into account when reserving your spot.

DO YOU OFFER A MONEY-BACK GUARANTEE?

Mountain Rose Defensive Training strives to offer the highest class of firearms and defensive training, but we understand that our methods may not resonate with everyone. If you are unsatisfied with the course, you will receive a full refund without certification or a formal record of completion and will be unable to register for future instruction at our school.

ARE YOUR CLASSES OPEN TO EVERYONE?

As firearms instructors, we have a duty to the community to ensure that only responsible citizens are given the tools necessary to use firearms effectively against other human beings. It is for this reason that Mountain Rose Defensive Training requires all students unknown to us personally to speak with Abigail Kerr or another authorized instructor before their place in a course is formally reserved.

 

Shortly after you register for a course, a member of our team will call you to discuss your firearms background and goals for the class. If for some reason we decide you are not a good candidate for instruction at Mountain Rose Defensive Training, you will receive a full refund of any course fee(s) you paid when registering. Mountain Rose takes no responsibility for the actions of firing ranges and/or other facilities where our classes are held.

 

We reserve the right to refuse business to anyone.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO CLASS?

For live fire classes on the range:

​

Required

  • eye and ear protection

  • closed-toed shoes and sensible clothes that may get dirty

  • a cap or hat with a bill or brim

  • a case, sleeve, or holster in which to store your gun(s) when not in use

  • water or other non-alcoholic beverages for hydration

  • open, positive attitude

Optional but recommended

  • extra magazines

  • speed loader

  • rain jacket and/or sunblock (classes are taught in rain or shine), bug spray

  • more ammunition than you think you will need

  • notebook and pencil

For classroom-only courses, just bring a notebook and pencil, water, snacks, and anything else that will help you be comfortable.

Please turn cell phones to silent or vibrate when you enter the classroom!

DO YOU OFFER GUN RENTALS?

At this time, we do not provide firearms for rental. Ammunition can be purchased for an additional charge if necessary, but we recommend bringing your own. If you are not sure what to bring or where to buy it, please don't hesitate to ask! We want you to have a great experience with minimal worries or stress and are happy to answer any questions you have.

WILL I GET A CERTIFICATE WHEN I COMPLETE A CLASS?

Mountain Rose Defensive Training is proud to offer formal completion certificates for every course, as well as personal letters of evaluation and/or recommendation for those students who are required to prove a certain level of competency to work with other schools and instructors. We are honored to be on your training resume!
